PROJECT STORY
A custom accent wall shaped around the room.
Behind the bed, the original wall was a light, unarticulated surface. The new composition introduces a dark painted center, warm wood linework, fluted side texture, and wall lighting without changing the bedroom footprint.
Project goal. Turn the plain bedroom wall into a strong architectural focal feature using contrast, wood texture, geometric linework, and balanced lighting.
The central MDF field was finished with Italian ILVA paint to create a deep backdrop for the natural wood strips. Those strips form an abstract geometric composition rather than a repeated grid, while fluted wood panels on both sides add vertical texture. Matching sconces complete the symmetry and keep the wall connected to the bed placement.

DESIGN & LAYOUT
Decisions shaped around the room.
Black-painted MDF framed by warm natural wood textures and geometric wood strips, balanced with fluted side panels and wall sconces.
- Black painted MDF center panel
- Abstract geometric natural wood linework
- Fluted wood side panels
- Balanced wall sconces
- Full-height bedroom feature wall

MATERIALS & DETAILS
Materials chosen to support the composition.
- MDF
- Italian ILVA paint
- Natural wood geometric trim strips
- Fluted wood wall panels
- Wall sconces

PROJECT DETAIL
Geometry, texture, and light meet in one wall.
The black ILVA-painted MDF center is crossed with natural wood strips and framed by fluted wood panels and wall sconces.
Smooth painted MDF, narrow geometric wood lines, and ribbed side-panel texture create three distinct material layers around the bed.

BEFORE
Behind the bed, the wall was completely unarticulated.
The light painted surface had no geometric trim, fluted side panels, architectural center field, or wall-mounted sconces.
The finished accent wall introduces dark painted MDF, natural wood geometry, fluted texture, and balanced lighting without changing the bedroom footprint or window position.
THE RESULT
A finished feature designed to belong to the room.
Contrast now comes from material and geometry rather than extra decoration: dark painted MDF anchors the bed, warm wood adds movement, and fluted side panels with sconces finish the composition.
