PROJECT STORY
A custom Fireplace TV Wall shaped around the room.
Two surfaces changed together in this room: the TV wall and the ceiling above it. What began as a simple console wall beneath a flat ceiling became a coordinated fireplace composition with shelving, beams, and recessed light.
Project goal. Transform the original plain TV wall into a complete fireplace-centered living room focal point while adding coordinated shelving and a more architectural ceiling treatment in the client-selected colors and stain.
The fireplace wall and ceiling were treated as one architectural system. Horizontal shiplap in the client-selected charcoal color defines the projecting floor-to-ceiling center, while three substantial stained shelves on each side balance the mounted TV, wood mantel, and linear electric fireplace. The same stain family continues into new ceiling beams, and an added drywall ceiling feature introduces recessed lighting above the upper display zones. A muted sage-green surrounding wall softens the darker center.

MATERIAL & FORM DETAIL
Charcoal shiplap and dark-stained wood define the custom fireplace wall.
Horizontal charcoal shiplap sets the background for the mounted TV and linear fireplace, while the substantial mantel and six shelves repeat one dark stain across the wall.
The shared stain creates warm horizontal accents against the charcoal center, and the surrounding muted sage-green wall softens the contrast at the edges.

BEFORE
The wall and ceiling were both visually flat before the new architecture.
A television on a freestanding console sat below an unarticulated ceiling with no new beams or recessed-light feature.
The completed room links a full-height fireplace wall, six stained shelves, a wood mantel, ceiling beams, and recessed lighting into one coordinated composition.
THE RESULT
A finished feature designed to belong to the room.
Charcoal shiplap, six stained shelves, and a matching mantel now anchor the wall, while new stained beams and recessed ceiling light extend the focal composition beyond the fireplace itself.
