PROJECT STORY

A french-style moulding accent wall shaped around the room.

Beside the existing cabinetry and room opening, the original warm off-white wall had little architectural definition. Picture-frame moulding and a unified painted finish added structure while keeping the kitchen light and calm.

Project goal. Turn a plain kitchen and dining wall into a more refined architectural focal point with classic French-inspired moulding.

Large upper and lower moulding panels were laid out to give the wall a measured French-inspired rhythm. The trim, wall surface, and area above the opening were finished in the same warm light shade, so depth comes from spacing and shadow rather than a contrasting paint color. Doorway, cabinetry, flooring, and surrounding layout were preserved as the new wall treatment was integrated into the eat-in kitchen.

PROJECT DETAIL

The moulding pattern creates depth through proportion, not contrast.

Large upper and lower picture-frame panels sit within one warm light painted finish, allowing shadow lines and spacing to define the wall.

Using the same tone across the wall and mouldings keeps the eat-in kitchen calm while giving the previously plain surface a more architectural rhythm.

BEFORE

One warm off-white surface carried the room before the moulding was introduced.

Beside the existing cabinetry and room opening, the wall had no panel rhythm or architectural trim to give the eat-in kitchen definition.

French-style picture-frame moulding and a unified painted finish now add depth through proportion and shadow while preserving the doorway, cabinetry, flooring, and room layout.

THE RESULT

A finished feature designed to belong to the room.

Measured picture-frame moulding now gives the Apopka eat-in kitchen a finished architectural layer, with one warm painted tone allowing proportion and shadow to carry the detail.

SCOPE OF WORK

What was included

  • Installed French-style picture-frame moulding across the feature wall
  • Painted the full wall, mouldings, and the wall area above the opening in one warm light shade
